A different kind of Football Foundation

Football is more than a game. This is a sentence commonly used by football lover around the world and some might even think it's a cliché. But here at Football Hero, it's the back bone of our work. 

Football hasn't just brought us life long memories, but it's been a school of discipline, team work and human values. We're convinced that well functioning youth organisations also help build well functioning societies.

Ever since our foundation was started, our mission has remained to give as many children as possible the chance to play football. That's why we've never used any third-parties. We personally hand over the resources we collect, to make sure we actually make a change.

How we make a change

Since we started in 2011, our football foundation has helped develop grassroots organisations in Africa, with focus on football. We started of by collecting and providing thousands of used football shoes to children in Gambia and Mozambique. 

We saw the how much our work meant for the children, and we decided to evolve our project. In 2013, Football Hero was founded as an official football club in Gambia and is currently playing in the GFF Regional Third Division.

In early 2022, we wanted to take our project to the next level. We wanted to make it easy for any person to join us on our journey. Football Hero Shop was founded, offering neatly designed clothing, produced under ethical working conditions.

All profits are proudly donated, and helps Gambian children take a place in the starting 11.
